200A Outdoor Distribution Systems Disconnect Switch

Ensuring safe circuit isolation for maintenance in 15/27/38kV power systems, this off-load disconnect switch supports 200-630A nominal current and 16-25kA transient current. It features manual operation, optional earthing switch pairing, and robust construction, making it an essential safety component for substations and industrial distribution networks.
Availability:

Haivo RH-A series outdoor distribution disconnect switches are purpose-built for no-load switching operations in 15kV, 27kV and 38kV medium voltage power distribution networks. As essential safety devices, they ensure complete electrical de-energization of circuits, creating a visible break that protects maintenance personnel and equipment from accidental energization. With rated currents ranging from 200A to 630A, these robust isolators serve as the primary safety isolation point for utility substations, industrial facilities, renewable energy installations and large commercial properties worldwide.

Engineered to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, our disconnect switches deliver reliable performance across extreme temperature ranges and environmental challenges. They support both manual and motorized operation modes and can be seamlessly integrated with earthing switches to provide comprehensive grounding protection for isolated circuit sections.

FAQ

What is the difference between a disconnect switch and a circuit breaker?

A disconnect switch is an off-load safety device designed exclusively to create a visible electrical break for maintenance purposes. It cannot interrupt load current or fault current. A circuit breaker, by contrast, is an on-load protection device that can safely interrupt normal operating currents and short-circuit currents to protect equipment and circuits. Disconnect switches must always be operated only after the circuit has been fully de-energized by a circuit breaker.

Can the RH-A disconnect switch be used to break load current?

No. The RH-A series is specifically engineered for no-load operation only. Attempting to interrupt load current with this device will generate dangerous electric arcs that can cause severe equipment damage, personal injury or even death. Our electrical engineers strongly recommend verifying zero current status using appropriate test equipment before operating any disconnect switch.

What is the mechanical lifespan of the RH-A disconnect switch?

Under normal operating conditions and with proper maintenance as outlined in the product manual, the RH-A series disconnect switches have a rated mechanical life of 10,000 operations. Regular inspection and lubrication of moving parts can significantly extend this service life.

Do you provide installation and maintenance support?

Yes. We offer detailed installation guides and video tutorials for all our products. Our global network of certified service partners provides professional on-site installation, commissioning and preventive maintenance services. Our technical support team is available 24/7 to assist with any questions or issues you may encounter.

What certifications do your products hold?

All Haivo RH-A series disconnect switches are certified to ISO 9001 quality management standards, CE marking and IEC 62271-102 international standards. We can also provide additional regional certifications upon request to meet local regulatory requirements.
