Silicone Rubber Composite Insulator for Support Cable is a core component in power systems, delivering mechanical support and electrical insulation for overhead transmission lines, distribution networks, and substations. Silicone rubber is a widely used polymeric insulation material for high-voltage insulators in the power industry, and HAIVO’s composite insulator series leverages this material to deliver stable performance across diverse operating conditions. This series adapts to various voltage levels and outdoor operating environments. The content below covers product features, specifications, and ordering details to support commercial procurement teams and engineering contractors in product selection and scheme evaluation.

Key Features of Silicone Rubber Composite Insulators for Support Cable

Silicone Rubber Housing & Insulation Performance

The silicone rubber housing is formed through integral injection molding. It comes with hydrophobicity, hydrophobicity migration, and soil resistance, along with electrical insulation and aging resistance properties. These properties help reduce pollution flashover incidents and support stable operation of high-voltage transmission lines.

The insulator adopts a modified ECR fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin rod as the internal core. This core rod shows resistance to high temperature, stress corrosion, and acid attack, with a tensile strength of over 1200Mpa. It also provides damping performance and resistance to creep and fatigue failure, which maintains the internal insulation quality and mechanical strength of the insulators during long-term outdoor operation.

Core Structure & Manufacturing Process

End fittings are crimped onto the fiberglass rod with a voice-operated displacement crimper. This crimping process gives the insulators consistent mechanical strength with small dispersion across batches, and ensures uniform connection quality for mass production orders.

The connection area between end fittings and the core rod is fused with the sheds housing via integral high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber injection molding. This process minimizes interface gaps between different components and reduces the risk of internal discharge.

An internal radial multi-seal structure is applied at the connection position between end fittings and the rod. This structure supports long-term sealing stability at the joint, reducing the risk of moisture and impurity intrusion during long-term outdoor service.

Product Types & Application Fields of Silicone Composite Insulators

Full Range of Insulator Product Lines

Based on different voltage requirements, HAIVO provides multiple types of insulators for power systems, including pin insulator, strain insulator, suspension insulator, post insulator, long rod insulator, horizontal post insulator, railway insulator, shackle insulator, and stay insulator.

The long rod suspension insulator series is designed for high-voltage overhead power transmission line applications. It supports rated voltage up to 550 kV for power transmission line supporting, suspending, and insulation, with ratings up to 500kV and compliance with IEC 61109 standard. This type is lightweight, breakage-resistant, and resistant to ozone, UV radiation, and seismic stress. Compared with traditional ceramic insulators, this composite type has a lower overall weight, which reduces the load on transmission towers and simplifies on-site installation procedures for construction teams.

For composite insulators applied in AC power distribution systems, the products operate stably under mechanical load. They feature compact design and light weight for convenient transportation, along with anti-vibration and anti-moisture capabilities. They also have notable anti-pollution flashover performance and aging resistance, suitable for operation at high altitude areas, and require simple maintenance.

The current product range includes long rod composite insulators up to 500kV, pin composite insulators up to 36kV, post composite insulators up to 252kV, and line post composite insulators up to 36kV.

Industrial Application Scenarios

These silicone rubber composite insulators are widely used in overhead transmission lines, power distribution lines, and substations of various scales. They also apply to railway power supply systems, power construction projects in high-altitude and heavily polluted areas, and power distribution systems for industrial facilities.

For business buyers in power construction and grid operation, these insulators can reduce transportation and installation costs due to their light weight, and lower daily maintenance frequency in harsh operating environments. The material properties also support a longer service life in outdoor conditions, which helps control the total cost of ownership for power projects. The product series meets the demands of power engineering contractors, grid operators, and industrial construction projects with different voltage level requirements.
