The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), which opened in Guangzhou on April 15, has witnessed an unprecedented surge in overseas buyer attendance, reaffirming its status as the premier barometer of China's foreign trade momentum. As of April 9, more than 210,000 overseas buyers had completed pre-registration, marking a 20 percent year-on-year increase, with professional buyers accounting for over 70 percent of the total for the first time. On opening day alone, over 70,000 overseas buyers visited the fair in person. The exhibition spans 1.55 million square meters, featuring a record-breaking 75,700 booths and more than 32,000 exhibitors—three core metrics all reaching historic highs. Additionally, 290 leading international procurement enterprises confirmed their attendance, up 30 percent year on year, with notable buyer growth coming from Belt and Road partner countries, Latin America, and Africa. First-quarter foreign trade data further underscored the momentum: China's total imports and exports of goods reached 11.84 trillion yuan, a 15 percent year-on-year increase, marking the largest first-quarter trade volume on record. Among the Zhejiang enterprises that achieved notable success was Zhejiang Haivo Electric Co., Ltd., a professional supplier of power distribution and transmission equipment based in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. The company, founded in 2010, specializes in cutout fuses, surge arresters, composite insulators, disconnecting switches, power fittings, and other power transmission and distribution equipment. With a commitment to technological innovation and sustainable solutions for power users worldwide, Zhejiang Haivo has established business operations in more than 50 countries and regions across South America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The company holds ISO 9001:2008 quality management certification and has obtained product type test reports from the China National High Voltage Apparatus Quality Supervision and Testing Center (XIHARI) and the Electric Power Industry Electrical Equipment Quality Inspection and Testing Center.
During the fair, Zhejiang Haivo presented a range of its power transmission and distribution equipment, aligning with the Canton Fair's theme of "new, green, and smart" development. The company's booth attracted a steady flow of buyers from diverse markets. Long-standing clients renewed and expanded their orders, while new customers from Belt and Road countries expressed strong interest in deepening cooperation. The fair enabled the company to reinforce its presence in existing overseas markets while successfully expanding its footprint into emerging markets.
For Zhejiang Haivo, the 139th Canton Fair reaffirmed that robust buyer traffic and meaningful face-to-face engagement remain invaluable channels for forging lasting global partnerships. As the company continues to advance technological innovation and sustainable development, it remains dedicated to its mission of delivering reliable, high-quality products and services to electric power users worldwide, striving to become a trusted global partner in the power industry.
